Seychelles 🇸🇨 - Praslin

· 4 min read

Tips 👏

  • The island is fairly big, taking around 30mins to cross in one direction by car.
  • Shops and agencies tends to close early, so plan before 7PM.
  • There’s ATM, car rental and plenty of restaurants.
  • Cote d’Or is the best spot to stay.

🏠 Accommodation

We stayed at the Treasure Island Retreat and it was perfect. Lovely full-equiped flat, with view on the ocean and beach 5 seconds aways. Massive plus was the terrace, the super helpful staff, and the sea sounds will falling asleep/waking up! It tends to be windy in this area but it’s also the best spot for sunset of all the island.

🚲 Getting there

We arranged tranfer airport to hotel, and hotel to jetty with the staff, and rented a car for the remaining time and would recommend doing the same. The island is very spread, with point of interested in all the corners.

⏱ Duration

We stayed two full days, but four would have been perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the island (and not just running everywhere).

❌ Miss

We sadly missed on the main UNESCO attraction called Valley de Mai since we planned it for the Friday afternoon when it’s closed (good idea to check opening time)!

Beach land tour (Georgette and Lazio) 🏖

We started our official first day on Praslin by getting to Anse Georgette. The staff of our hotel advised us to book the access in advance, simply by contacting the Constance Lemuria hotel staff. Visitor must pass by this resort to access the beach, and while it’s free there’s a limited number of person allowed each day, so drop them a line in advance!

After dropping the car at the hotel parking and registering at the hotel entrance, we slowly made our way to the beach. Count around 20min of up-and-down walk on a clear path to get to the beach. Once there, we simply chilled, snorkelled around, slept and had some beer/coconuts on the made-up beach bar. Beautiful and calm beach, with pristine waters and white sand, a must do!

Few hours after, we made our way to Anse Lazio. While geographically very close by, there’s actually no vehicle road from Georgette to Lazio (only a 70min walk trail). It took us around 45 minutes to get there by car since we had to do all the tour of the island. Upon arrival, we parked the car in front of the beach and repeat the same chill (sleep, beers, coconuts). Both of those beaches are very similar, while Lazio being a bit more mainstream/busy than Georgette.

On our way back, we stopped by the Zanzibar ViewPoint, accessible by car in a tiny and curvy road. It was not possible to reach the top since it’s gated with a big antenna, but the views from the road were real good.

Beach boat tour 🐢

The following day, we went to do the famous boat excursion of the nearby islands, including St Pierre Islet and Curieuse Island. Our hotel staff took care of all the booking, for which we paid 100eur/person.

We drove up to Cote D’or, and then boarded the tiny boat direction Curieuse Island. Upon arrival, we chilled and took plenty of picture with the beautiful, big and free land turtles on the island. After what, we started a 45min trek in the island jungle, to then reach Anse St Jose, where the staff prepared the fresh fish on the BBQ. A quick nap after, we jumped back in the boat, and stopped around St Pierre Islet for a quick snorkelling session, before arriving back in Cote d’Or in time for a beer and sunset.

Those kind of boat tours are very common in all the Seychelles island, and are a great way to spend a relaxing day while still visiting great landmarks, would highly recommend!
