Tips πŸ‘

  • It's a big city with lots to offer and some places to avoid. Each area are quite unique.
  • The Makati area is brand-new modern with lots of shopping mall and super safe.
  • Allow plenty of time to get to the airport as it can get quite busy. We left the hotel 4h before the flight and it was good/tight.

🏠 Accommodation

We stayed at Discovery Primea, super fancy and high-end with a rooftop swimming pool. Definitely on the pricey side, but we wanted to have a nice and relaxing time before heading back to the gray UK.

🚲 Getting there

We flew directly (1h30mins) from Coron using AirSwift and didn't had any problems. Keep an eye on your email since they tend to change departure time up until the last minute.

⏱ Duration

We stayed 2 nights and that was definitely not enough. That being said, we're both not super fan of big cities so technically that was good for us.

❌ Miss

We pretty much didn't saw the city at all except Makati, the area where our hotel was located. We heard great things to do, including the old historical centre.

Makati Area 🏒

Since our hotel was in Makati, and we spent most of our time sleeping and chilling, we only managed to visit a bit the local area. We were very surprised to find this area to be super fancy and clean, solely composed of gigantic shopping malls with all the high-end fancy brands and armed security guards at every corner holding hands with CCTVs.

While that wasn't expected, it turned out to be quite nice since we needed to do a bit of shopping and were keen to get some Japanese food. We pretty much spent our afternoon walking around the mall, grabbing some ramen, and getting scammed by a local cat begging for food.
