Tips ๐Ÿ‘

  • Itโ€™s not a super safe city, apply extra caution.
  • Thereโ€™s a beach in the center, way hotter than the mountain area.
  • Itโ€™s big so thereโ€™s a lot of international shops and restaurants.

๐Ÿ  Accommodation

We slept at the Courtyard in the center. Expensive but very nice, booked with points.

๐Ÿšฒ Getting there

Private transfer of 3h from Alausi for 100$ after negociations, arranged by the hotel staff. Thereโ€™s also a bus for 6$ but we had a lot of luggages and heard itโ€™s not super safe so we passed. The road was vey scenic but very curvy, take light breakfast.

โฑ Duration

We stayed two nights and one day and felt that was enough.

Relax in the hotel ๐Ÿ˜Œ

We were quite tired from our trip, and had a nice hotel, so we didnโ€™t dared ourselves out much beside going for food. We read online that itโ€™s a bit of dangerous city for tourist, with still some landmarks to see such as the Malecon 2000. The area we stayed at was perfect to get reading for the islands, including plenty of ATMs and shops around to buy missing gear.

To be 100%, we came in Guayaquil just for chilling and take our flight to the Galapagos, so we didnโ€™t plan to do much there. Youโ€™re better off googling other blogs for it, sorry!
