Tips πŸ‘

  • People are very nice with foreigners.
  • It’s a working city, so don’t expect any english speakers but expect people looking at you.

🏠 Accommodation

We slept at the Holiday Inn Central. Not cheap but nice rooms.

🚲 Getting there

Bullet train from Beijing, 1h30.

⏱ Duration

We stayed two nights, one full day, and felt that was enough.

Cangyan Mountain πŸ”

Located around 2 hours drive from the city centre, this place was simply mind-blowing, with old bridges between cliffs and temple at the top of mountains. We’ve asked the reception to hire a private driver to get there from the centre for 600RMB. Pick-up at 9AM, back at 3PM.

Upon arrival, we could go either get the cable-car to go directly at the top, or hike by ourselves. It’s an easy hike so we went for that option. We grabbed a ticket at the ticket office and started. We did a circle, started on the right shoulder of the mountain, where we passed the bridge and several temples hanging on the cliffs until we arrived at the top of the mountain after 1h30. Once there, we carried on the hike to the top of the cable-car and went down on the other side of the mountain. We had an amazing view of the bridge and the pagodas. There was very few tips online since not so much tourists. We had food both time in the food court below the Holiday Inn. No english menus, no english speakers. Make sure to have google translate ready.
